This is even more true if we talk about its execution in anime and manga. Therefore, to appreciate the beauty of the slice-of-life series, I have created the Best Slice Of Life anime list.

From calming to eye-opening, from unique to exciting, this list has it all. So grab your wafers, lay back on your couch, and prepare yourself for a ride. A ride into a million lives!

A classic Slice of Life anime, the opening theme of Lucky Star is one of the best there is. In fact, not just the song, but even the opening dance sequence is absolute gold.

The story, characters and almost everything about the show is delightful, to say the least. Konata Izumi as an avid video gamer and otaku manages to steal the show every time she appears on the screen.

The humor might seem a little all over the place for some people and some might feel it’s a little drag, but then if you get the hang of it, you’ll surely enjoy the anime.

In fact, it’s the kind of anime we wouldn’t mind watching repeatedly, cause chances are that we’d never really get bored of it. So, yes, it’s that good.

Sweetness and Lightning aren’t about cute little schoolgirls, enjoying school life. Instead, the story revolves around a widowed father who hopes to be an ideal father to his child, and it is here that a schoolgirl and cooking come into the story.

While Kouhei isn’t aware of how to cook, he wishes his daughter Tsumugi to grow up healthy and well. This is what leads him to his student Kotori Lida, who runs a family restaurant.

And even though Kotori isn’t a good cook herself, she has plenty of resources to help Kouhei. The story beautifully portrays the importance of social bonding, home-cooked meals, and how a family is an important part of one’s existence.

Restaurant to Another World (Isekai Shokudou)

Restaurant to Another World isn’t your usual isekai. It’s fun and cute because the story deals with the joys of discovering and eating gastronomic pleasures. Now the reason it’s a little different is that all the guests that arrive in this typical Japanese restaurant aren’t your everyday humans.

Instead, they’re elves, dragons, fairies, sorcerers, knights, leonine warriors, and biped reptiles. The story makes you want to appreciate every little thing you eat or have on your plate, a little bit more.

60. Honobono Log

Honobono Log

A short series, Honobono Log isn’t your typical anime, to say the least. In fact, it’s got more similarities with the adorable Korean illustrations that you come across online. There are a total of 10 episodes of 20 minutes each and the story is tender and sweet, filled with the regular lives of people in love.

The best part is, that it enforces the idea that love isn’t always conveyed through grand romantic, and expensive gestures; it’s in the little things that occur every day.
